Hiroshima is well-known for its excellent museums and any trip to this city should not overlook the artistic collections on offer here. The Peace Memorial Museum is a must-visit, for the insight it gives into Hiroshima's dark past as the site of an atomic bomb during WWII.

Not really a museum as such, the Hiroshima City Comics Library is a fascinating collection of almost 80,000 comics and comics-related materials. Visitors can trace the history of Japanese comics at the library, with hundreds of comics representing each era since comics have been in existence. The library allows members to read the books inside the building or in the park adjacent, while you can also borrow comics according to library regulations.
